The Mary Cole Rose Bowl was held at Royston Golf Club on a lovely day with the course in superb condition. 16 Clubs were represented from the County. The course challenged the players and they all gave it their best. As the individual results came in, it was apparent that it was going to be a very close finish – and in true fashion it came down to the last score in!
Somehow, a decider to separate Ely City Golf Club and Royston Golf Club had to be found as both teams scored 232 (best 3 scores out of the 4). The deciding criteria for this competition is to look for the lowest nett score from both teams, and it was found to be a 73 for Royston, so Ely City GC had to settle for runners up and the winners by a whisker were Royston. Well done to every club that sent a team to compete in what is a very highly contested event.
Some highlighted individual scores went to So-Young Yoo from The Cambridgeshire Golf Club who scored a nett 71 and Belinda Borneo from Brampton Park Golf Club who had a gross 82.
Thank you to Royston Golf Club for hosting the event, and all the volunteers and helpers that made the day a success. CHWGL are very grateful.
