Wensum Valley Golf Club host East England County Match Week

The first team is selected following the Ladies' County Championship and then participates in the East Region Inter-County Match Days playing each of the other five counties over three days. The format of each match is two foursomes and three singles in each session AM and PM, all played off scratch.

Match Squad Registration

CHWGL run both a first team and second team, we are looking to form a squad of players in which to choose players from. Players are strongly advised to play in the two competitions listed below as this will be a key way in which players will be chosen for the two teams. Extenuating circumstances for not being able to attend either of these competitions will be taken into account.
Performance at County Championships (11th -12th May)
Performance at Margery Newport Trophy (30th April)
As a guide 1st team players are usually low single figure players or rapidly improving higher single figure players who have impressed at both county and club competitions earlier in the year and are showing strong potential.
Second team players are usually players with a HI index of 12 or below or have strong match play skills. Second team is a mix of experienced and up and coming players.

Once we have a squad of interested players we will be in touch with those interested to arrange some Foursomes practice sessions.

The first team will be announced on the Sunday of County Championships at the presentation and we are planning on announcing the 2nd team late May / Early June.
