Seniors' Captain: Cath Emery
Playing for the County couldn't be easier.
If you are over 50 you can play. Our friendly matches are open to all handicaps. If you are interested in either scratch or friendly matches drop me a email. Next year I will be recruiting players between 19-27 handicap range, so if you are interested please email me.
We have six matches a year played against neighbouring East Region Counties. Match days are really good value at just £15 per match and the County supports the cost of these matches. We also welcome all willing volunteers.
The Eastern Region Seniors County Scratch League is now in its 2nd year. We play 5 county scratch matches against teams from Essex, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Suffolk. The format is 6 single scratch matches. If you are under a 10 handicap then you are eligiable to play.

Scratch League Matches
Our final match of the season was held on 17th October on the Old Course at The Gogs.
Firstly, thank you Lesley Gilchrist for stepping in as Team Captain for the day. Our opponents were Hertfordshire, they had been on form throughout the season with 6 points compared to our 4 already in the bag, we were going to have a battle on our hands. Our team tried their best, we came away defeated in all games.
During the year we have visited a variety of wonderful courses, Chigwell, Purdis Heath, Ely, Saffron Walden, Cambridge Country Club and The Gogs. Playing for the County opens up many opportunities to experience different courses, and more importantly connect with other ladies across the region.
The results are in for the East Region league
1st Hertfordshire with 8 points and 23 games won.
2nd Essex, with 7 points and 20.5 games won.
3rd Suffolk with 6 points and 17 games won.
4th Cambs & Hunts/ Norfolk 4 points with 11.5 and 13 games won respectively.
5th Bedfordshire 1 point with 5 games won.

Friendly Matches
Our first friendly of the season took place at Brampton on Monday 19th May against Northants.
With a good selection of players from Saffron Walden, Girton, Gog Magog, Ramsey, Heydon Grange, Old Nene, Cambridge Country Club, St Neots and Brampton and quite a few shots given to the opposition we ended up with a halved match. A good result and thank you to all those that played.
